On Sept. 1, the Korean soccer team played against Japan for the Asian Games’ gold medal. There was no goal until the end of the second half. In overtime, Korea finally beat Japan 2-1. Son Heung-min, Korea’s best soccer player, doesn’t have to serve in the military thanks to this victory. If his team had lost to Japan, Son would have had to join the military shortly after the Asian Games.
